Internal Hard Disk Recommendations
It is possible to use different size drives in the 352UN, or to use matched sets. SATA hard disks are required in the NETDISK 352UN. In keeping our commitment to reduce energy consumption, IOCELL Network highly recommends Green Style, low power drives that are specifically manufactured for external storage applications. Check your drive specifications to ensure the start up current will operate within the amperage limit of the power supply. You can use 500GB to Higher capacity 3.5 inch Desktop HDD in this NAS Enclosure.
SATA I, II or III?
Although SATA II & III drives are working in the 352UN, the Gigabit LAN interface presents a theoretical speed limit around 128MB/s so there is no significant benefit in using the higher speed drives.
Hard Disk Cache
We recommend using drives with the same internal cache size for optimum performance.
